225X2X28 Automatic Torsion Spring Overhead Garage Door Spring with oil tempered surface treatment

1. Construction & Material
• Made of spring steel for durability and tension retention.
• Winding cones (at both ends) are die-cast aluminum—one for winding, the other stationary.
2. Color-Coding for Wind Direction
• Red cone end = Right-wound spring (winds clockwise when installed on the left side).
 • Black cone end = Left-wound spring (winds counterclockwise when installed on the right side).(Note: Proper pairing is essential if using dual springs.)
3. Application & Selection Criteria
• Designed for heavy garage doors, providing lifting force.
• Must be selected based on spring dimensions (wire size, inner diameter, length) rather than door weight alone.
• Regular-duty spring with a 12,000-cycle lifespan (typical for residential use; heavy-duty springs last ~20,000+ cycles).
4. Installation & Replacement
• Used to replace worn/damaged torsion springs mounted above the garage door on the header.
 • Safety Warning: Torsion springs store extreme tension; improper handling can cause severe injury. Professional installation is recommended.
5.Additional Considerations
• Cycle Life: 12,000 cycles ≈ 7–10 years for average use (open/close 5x/day).
 • Matching Springs: If replacing one spring in a dual system, ensure the new spring matches the existing one in wind direction, size, and torque.
• Tools Needed: Winding bars, vise grips, and a ladder for safe installation.
